Ms. Kanyaporn Kongmali, a Ph.D. student (International Program) in Physics at the Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, is conducting her research under the Linear Electron Accelerator Research Laboratory, supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sakorn Rimjaem. She has been awarded a research fellowship by the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) to conduct research on FLASHLAB@PITZ from June 10 to August 11, 2024, in the Federal Republic of Germany.
During this visit, Ms. Kanyaporn Kongmali participated in the operation of the particle accelerator and conducted experiments related to FLASH radiation therapy and radiation biology with the Photo Injector Test facility at DESY, Zeuthen site (PITZ group) in the city of Zeuthen. She also had the opportunity to attend the PITZ Collaboration Meeting, a gathering focused on accelerator research involving the PITZ group and its international research partners.
In addition, she visited three other accelerator research institutes: the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) in Hamburg, the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB), and the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society (FHI) in Berlin.
She also participated in the workshop titled "Infrared Free-Electron Laser: The State of the Art 2024", held from June 28 to 31, 2024.
